Error description

  • A silent installation of the Admin Center, when the root user
does not have full root functionality, can fail with the
following errors seen in the log.txt:

STDERR : IO Exception:/opt/tivoli/tsm/.vault.key (A file or
   directory in the path name does not exist.)
STDERR : java.io.FileNotFoundException:
   /opt/tivoli/tsm/.vault.key (A file or directory in the path
   name does not exist.)

TSM Versions Affected: TSM 6.1 silent install on Unix

Local fix

  • 1. Create the /opt/tivoli/tsm directory before starting the
   silent install
2. Ensure the installation is run in a fully initialized root
   environment
