• 1. Create the informix user's home directory
  2. Fix the user shell problem by running
          dscl . -create /Users/informix UserShell /bin/bash

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  When installing the IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) 11.50
  bundle on a new Mac OS X system, the installer attempts to
  create the informix user and group without creating the home
  directory and without specifying a valid shell.  If users later
  attempt to log into the system as the informix user, they may
  encounter an error message.

  Upgrade to IDS 11.50.xC2.

Problem conclusion

• Beginning with IDS version 11.50.xC2, when the installer
  creates the informix user, the home directory will be properly
  created and the shell defined.?All of the users will be able to
  log in as the user informix.
