IC45255: DSMSERV FORMAT HAS INCORRECT EXAMPLE INFORMATION FOR INSTALLING ADDITIONAL INSTANCE OF TSM SERVER IN ADMINISTRATOR'S REFERENCE

Error description

• Incorrect example in TSM Administrator's Reference under
  "DSMSERV FORMAT" command for manually installing a second
  instance of TSM server on Windows platforms.
  
  5.2, 5.2.2, and 5.3 TSM manuals on Windows  reference "utils"
  directory that no longer exists at 5.2/5.3, and informing
  customers to issue dsmserv runfile commands for initnode.dat
  and dsmserv.idl files.
  
  The following is documented under "dsmserv format" command
  in 5.3 Administrator's Reference on Windows:

  Use the following example to install an additional server on
  a Windows machine. The server is installed in the
  c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server directory and TCP/IP is
  the communications method used.
  
  Note:
  If you have installed Tivoli Storage Manager in a different
  location, substitute that location for the one listed in the
  example below. From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm
  directory, enter the following commands to create a new
  directory and change into that directory:
  md server2
  cd server2
  From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server2 directory,
  enter the following commands:
   ..\console\dsmfmt -data data1.dsm 4
   ..\server\dsmserv -k server2 format 1 log1.dsm 9 1 db1.dsm 13
   ..\server\dsmserv -k server2 runfile ..\server\initnode.dat
   ..\server\dsmserv -k server2 runfile ..\server\dsmserv.idl
   Copy ..\server\dsmserv.opt
   ..\utils\adsm
  
  From the Main Menu, select Options, Options Files, Select
   Options File.
  From the list, select Server2.
  Select File, Open.
  Select Options, TCP/IP, Port Address.
  Change the value for the Port Address to 1501.
  Click on the Client Settings button to view the parameters
   the clients must use in the Client Options File to connect
   to the new server.
  Select File and then Save.
  Enter ..\server\dsmserv -k server2 to start the new server.

  TSM Administrator's Reference for Windows should be updated for
  "DSMSERV FORMAT" command to state current instructions:
  ***
  In general it is recommended that the TSM Managemnet Console be
  used to create server instances. The console will handle all the
  steps for you. When complete, that server can be started as a
  Windows service or from a DOS window.
  
  To create an additional server instance manually:
  
  Use the following example to install an additional server on a
  Windows machine. The server is installed in the
  c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server\server2 directory and
  TCP/IP is the communications method used.
  
  Note:
  If you have installed Tivoli Storage Manager in a different
  location, substitute that location for the one listed in the
  example below.
  
  1) From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm directory, enter the
     following commands to create a new directory and change into
     that directory:
       md server2
       cd server2
  
  2) From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server2 directory,
     enter the following command to format the server:
  
    ..\server\dsmserv -k server2 format 1 log1.dsm 9 1 db1.dsm 13
  
  3) From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server2 directory,
     enter the following command to create a copy of the sample
     options file:
      Copy ..\server\dsmserv.opt.smp dsmserv.opt
  
  4) From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server2 directory,
     enter the following to install the server as a Windows
  service
  
    ..\console\install "TSM Server2" "c:\program files\tivoli\tsm
      \server\dsmsvc.exe" userid password
  
    where userid   = the Windows user under which the service will
  run
          password = the password of that user
  
  5) The new server is now accessible from the TSM Management
  Console.
     The options file can be edited and the server started as a
     Windows service.
  
  6) From the c:\"program files"\tivoli\tsm\server2 directory,
  enter
     the following to start the server in a DOS window.
       ..\server\dsmserv -k server2
