HE12030: Collections in IBM Content Collector for Microsoft SharePoint might fail if user-defined metadata mapping is selected

Error description

• When collecting documents from a Microsoft SharePoint site, the
  collection might fail if the check box "Add user-defined
  metadata to output" is selected but no site column mappings are
  configured. When the check box is cleared, documents can be
  collected without problems.
  
  The SharePoint Connector log file contains errors similar to the
  following message:

Local fix

• Clear the check box "Add user-defined metadata to output".
  

Problem summary

• When the check box "Add user-defined metadata to output" is
  selected, the SharePoint collector retrieves SharePoint list and
   list column metadata to configure the property mappings. In
  some cases, this metadata cannot be interpreted correctly, which
   causes the collection to fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• Starting with IBM Content Collector 3.0 Fix Pack 5 and IBM
  Content Collector 4.0 Fix Pack 2, the metadata is interpreted
  correctly, so that the problem no longer occurs.
