HE07443: OPEN IGES FILE IN SOLIDWORKS 2010 WHEN SMARTEAM INTEGRATION IS E NABLED CAUSES SOLIDWORKS TO CRASH

Error description

  • Duplicate of BR10000105989 / SR00053014 opened for IGES file
    format and reported for SW2011.
    SCENARIO:
    1. Launch SolidWorks 2010 SP4.0 and login to SmarTeam using
    "admin."
    2. From within SolidWorks select file and open, clicking on
    the System Folders icon.
    3. Browse to the SmarTeam Work folder and select the IGES
    file type.
    4. Select the sample IGES file and click Open.
    ==>> The IGES file begins loading.
    ==>> You will receive an error indicating that an error has
    occurred and SolidWorks needs to re-start.
    5. Kill SolidWorks and SmarTeam using the Task Manager.
    6. Restart SolidWorks, this time cancel the login to the
    SmarTeam Integration.
    7. Navigate to the sample IGES file and open it.
    ==>> This time, the IGES file  is opened as expected.
    NOTES:
    1. Refer to the attached movie file (SR00055107 Recreated by
    FE with SW 2010.wrf) for more details.
    2. This issue is the same as is documented in BR10000105989,
    except that this case deals with SolidWorks 2010.
    3. The issue is reproduced on Windows 7 64-bit and Windows XP
    32-bit.
    4. This issue was recreated by the FE using the following
    environment -
    * OS - Microsoft Windows XP Professional V2002 SP3
    * SolidWorks Premium 2010 SP4.0
    * SmarTeam V5R20SP5
    * Customer's sample IGES file "gear box complete.IGS"
