Resolving The Problem

This document explains possible reasons for message CPF8145 during processing for a SAVRSTxxx command

If save/restore (ObjectConnect) function performed for command such as SAVRSTOBJ is cancelled, the following message can be issued: CPF8145, damage on data portion of save file OBCSAVF in library QTEMP.

Object OBCSAVF is a virtual save file that is not really used for anything other than for performing an ObjectConnect function in processing any SAVRSTXXX command. OBCSAVF is temporarily created during every SAVRSTXXX operation and placed in library QTEMP. Message CPF8145 is generated any time there is an unsuccessful completion of a SAVRSTXXX operation. An unsuccessful completion can be due to an error with an object during a SAVRSTXXX operation, an abnormal ending of a SAVRSTXXX operation, or a user actually ending a job where a SAVRSTXXX command was issued because user could not wait for the function to complete in a timely manner.
