Problem summary

  *                 that do dynamic calls to programs compiled   *
  *                 with Enterprise COBOL V4.2 or earlier        *
  *                 releases, and running under LE               *
  *                 multithreading environment. One example of   *
  *                 requiring LE multi-threading is when JAVA    *
  *                 programs are in the same enclave.            *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: COBOL runtime library may run into an   *
  *                      indefinite loop.                        *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  When processing dynamic calls under LE multi-threading
  environment, COBOL runtime library uses locks to protect
  against possible race conditions. There is a logic error in
  this processing that causes an indefinite wait and retry for
  one of the locks.

Problem conclusion

• The logic error in dynamic call processing has been corrected
  by this PTF.
