Error description

  • V2R1 compiler was incorrectly issuing the warning and error
messages while combining AGGREGATE and PPONLY options:

Error:
ERROR CCN3327 An error occurred while opening the listing file,
DD:SYSCPRT.
Warning:
"Option AGGREGATE is incompatible with option PPONLY and is
ignored.

The correct behavior should be to issue just the warning:

"Option AGGREGATE is incompatible with option PPONLY and is
ignored.

Local fix

  • Explicitly define SYSCPRT in JCL.

* USERS AFFECTED: zOS C/C++ compiler users turning on          *
*                 aggregate map listings and wanting           *
*                 pre-processed output.                        *

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The compiler tries to generate the      *
*                      aggregate map listing even though it    *
*                      doesn't get into the layout and code    *
*                      generation stage due to the user        *
*                      requesting pre-processing only. This    *
*                      causes an attempt to write the listing  *
*                      to a non-existent file.                 *
