APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After the installation of Apache HTTP server (FMID HHAP85P
  for z/OS), the customer receives the messages with missing
  version.signature file.
  The version.signature file should have been added during the
  prereq process in the packaging.
  

Local fix

• One-time workaround:
                                                                 .
  * Remount the r/o filesystem r/w
  * Create a file called "version.signature" with the text
  "8.5.5.2"
  * Remount r/o filesystem as r/o
  * Create a version.signature that says "8.5.5.1" in the r/w
  runtime HFS
  * Stop and start IHS
                                                                 .
  Subsequent starts will not print that warning about
  version.signature, including after 8.5.5.3

  Due to a packaging error,
  version.signature was not included in the
  z/os Ported Tools packaging of IBM HTTP
  Server (IHS). This file helps IHS recognize when the read-only
  HFS has been updated to link in potential new binaries. New
  binaries are rare.
  

Problem conclusion

• version.signature is now properly packaged.
  

Temporary fix

• * Remount the r/o filesystem r/w
  * Create a file called "version.signature" with the text
  "8.5.5.2"
  * Remount r/o filesystem as r/o
  * Create a version.signature that says "8.5.5.1" in the r/w
  runtime HFS
  * Stop and start IHS
