PI12928: COBOL V5 RUNTIME EVENT HANDLER DOES NOT HANDLE LE EVENT 31 PROPERLY SO WORKING STORAGE ADDRESS/LENGTH UNAVAILABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Various products, such as CICS (CEDF), call LE to get the
  working storage address and length for a COBOL program.  LE
  calls Event 31 for the module.  However, the COBOL V5 runtime
  event handler (CEEEV004) does not handle the LE Event 31
  properly.  The mishandling by the COBOL V5 event handler results
  in LE returning zeroes for the Working storage address and
  length to the caller.
