  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: For some large input modules, ABO       *
  *                      consumes a significant amount of CPU    *
  *                      time to optimize the modules. This new  *
  *                      function APAR adds improvements to      *
  *                      reduce the CPU time taken by ABO while  *
  *                      optimizing these modules.               *

  ABO was changed to reduce the CPU time consumed, when
  optimizing some larger input modules.
