Error description

  • netstat -D can show a large mount of dropped output
    packets
    in the NFS/RPC summary line although there is no obvious
    impact seen in the NFS or RPC communication. The issue is
    most likely to be seen in NFS servers with clients
    mounting
    over TCP.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • Modified RPC code to correctly do the accounting of
    successfully sent TCP packets.
