Error description

  • 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Adapter
    (e4143a16e4143009) configured with checksum_offload
    and/or
large_send will send packets with bad tcp checksum.
This is seen only when sending vlan packets, thus coming
from a vlan adpater or a VIO client using SEA with vlan.

Local fix

  • disable both checksum_offload & large_send on the
    physical
    adapter.

Problem summary

  • Setup vlan and enable checksum offload, there will be an initial
delay when using the vlan interface.

Problem conclusion

  • Update the tx_bd_nbytes in case of vlan tagged frames.

Temporary fix
