  • When using DtHelp in a UTF-8 locale, such as JA_JP, the user
may experience graphics corruption while highlighting or
selecting text with the mouse. The characters or glyphs appear
to disappear when selected, making the selected text
unreadable.

selecting text with the mouse. The characters or glyphs appear
to disappear when selected, making the selected text
unreadable.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The symptoms are a result of incorrect handling of Unicode
data used by the JA_JP UTF-8 locale.
DtHelp was updated to correct the way multibyte characters in
a UTF-8 data stream are processed. This fix allows the text to
be visible during selection without the problematic graphics
corruption issue.
