APAR status

Error description

  • An smux entry in the /etc/snmpdv3.conf file with a
comment following the IP address field causes the
message "1473-265 Error, address family = 179" to be
written to the snmpdv3 log file.  The snmpdv3 server
then ignores this entry.  The workaround is to either
not add the comment or include the default netmask of
255.255.255.255 before the comment.
