  • When getty get unexpected multibyte character and ERASE,
    getty infinite loop in following stack.

    getusername(??, ??)
    gettysetup(??)
    tsmgetty(??, ??)
    tsm(??, ??)
    main(??, ??)
    

Local fix

  • kill and restart getty.
    

Problem summary

  • When getty get unexpected multibyte character and ERASE
    then getty goes into infinite loop with following stack.
    
    mblen(??, ??)
    getinput(??, ??, ??)
    getusername(??, ??)
    gettysetup(??)
    tsmgetty(??, ??)
    tsm(??, ??)
    main(??, ??)
    

Problem conclusion

  • Handled the return value of mblen function to get out from
    the infinite loop.
