No error log is logged for when a failed path is recovered
    by the PCM.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Default AIX MPIO PCMs (Path Control Modules) do not log
an error log on path failures during path open sequence.
No error log is logged for when a failed path is recovered
    by the PCM.

Problem conclusion

  • For the AIX MPIO default PCMs, log additional error logs for
path failures during open (disk) sequence, and log error with
a failed path is recovered. This may result in additional
error logs, but will improve debug of path related issues to
    storage device.

These new error logs will be disabled (not logged) if the
error check level for the PCM is disabled or set to 0. By
default, these errors will be logged.
