  • Performing an nimadm from a 6.1 TL5 NIM master. NIM
    client is
    being migrated from AIX 5.3 TL8 to 6.1 TL3.
    
    During the migration, the following error messages are
    received:
    rpm_share: 0645-007 ATTENTION:
    /usr/lib/instl/libinst_mkworkdir returned an unexpected
    result.
    rpm_share: 0645-007 ATTENTION:
    init_baselib() returned an unexpected result.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Performing an nimadm from a 6.1 TL5 NIM master. NIM
    client is
    being migrated from AIX 5.3 TL8 to 6.1 TL3.
    
    During the migration, the following error messages are
    received:
    rpm_share: 0645-007 ATTENTION:
    /usr/lib/instl/libinst_mkworkdir returned an unexpected
    result.
    rpm_share: 0645-007 ATTENTION:
    init_baselib() returned an unexpected result.
    
    software package will not be installed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is that alt_disk_mig_lib.sh routine
    alt_mig_bos_restore()
    needs to do a mkdir and mount of /admin before the initial bos
    restore.
