Error description

  • When attempting to change the state of a path for a dac
    device, an error message indicating an illegal option is
    displayed:
    
    # chpath -s disable -l dac0 -p fscsi0
    Method error (/etc/methods/chggen):
            0514-011 Invalid arguments.
    /etc/methods/chggen: illegal option -- W
    /etc/methods/chggen: illegal option -- s
    
    The chpath command fails, and the path state remains
    unchanged.
    

Local fix

  • Do not run chpath against the dac devices.
    Run rmpath to either delete the path, or to put it into
    a defined state.
