Error description
The cfmupdatenode command using the -f option to specify a file does not work if that file has an extension. For example, if you have 2 files /cfmroot/etc/hosts._test1 and /cfmroot/etc/hosts._test2 then cfmupdatenode -N test1 -f /cfmroot/etc/hosts._test1 will fail to update the file to the nodes in test1 group.
Local fix
1) do not use -f option for same files with multiple ._ extensions cfmupdatenode -N test1 to push files to nodes in test1 group or 2) make sure there exists a version of the file without extensions then use -f option without extension. cfmupdatenode -N test1 -f /cfmroot/etc/hosts will push out /cfmroot/etc/hosts._test1 to the test1 nodes.
Problem summary
When the same file exists with multiple extensions and the -f flag is used to specify one of the files, cfmupdatenode is unable to distribute it. During the internal processing the extension is removed from the filename and then a check to determine if the file was specifed with -f fails resulting in the file not being distributed. The files are distributed correctly if the -f flag is not specified.
Problem conclusion
cfmupdatenode has been modified to better manage filenames with extensions when they are specified with the -f flag, enabling the files to be distributed.
Temporary fix
