IV62042: REDUCED PERFORMANCE OF MV ON FS WITH BLOCKSIZE LARGER THEN 128KB APPLIES TO AIX 7100-03

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The mv command uses a fixed 128k transfer buffer even
  if the filesystem uses a larger then 128k blocksize.
  This results into slower file moves of large files
  on non JFS2 filesystems which utilize a blocksize larger
  then 128k.

Problem conclusion

• Code changes has been done to improve the performance of mv
  command for file system with large block size.
