Error description

  • When tcp_keepcnt has been set to a large value, setting
    tcp_keepidle may cause AIX to adjust tcp_keepidle to a negative
    value, causing TCP keepalives work incorrectly or not at all.

    * Install APAR IV48669.

Problem conclusion

  • Network option initialization routines were added to prevent
    the TCP keepalive variables from being set to values that cause
    TCP keepalives to malfunction.
