Error description

  • Problem Environment:
    Etherchannel ent14 =ent4 + ent7
    Etherchannel ent15 =ent5 + ent6

When booting etherchannel ent14 will get priority to
configure over ent15. so the underlying adapters ent4 and
ent7 will get first chance of getting configured
Because of the frequency of CPU servicing these
    adapters
interrupt with these adapters to be configured. So more
number of adapters more number of interrupt generations.
And for this reason the chances of Link down will appear
more for the adapters configured later.

    Work around:
1> Reset the switch connected to these adapters.
    OR
    2> re-configure the Etherchannel
( this stays up until next boot)

Local fix

  • Work around:
    1> Reset the switch
    2> Reconfigure the etherchannel

Both the above workaround will work for until the next
    reboot.

Problem summary

  • adpater link may not come up after the reboot.

Problem conclusion

  • Remove set_port_cfg IDC(Inter Driver Communication) calls made
from device open and during mac_address_change which doesnt
    have any significance.

Temporary fix
