Error description
With AIX 61 TL8 or AIX 71 TL and upwards, customer may see syslog filled with "getnetconfigent failed" if automount is used and there is no IPv6 interface present. May 23 06:54:01 daemon:err|error automountd[5177518]: getnetconfigent failed The error is not necessarily a result of failed getnetconfigent() as a merely missing IPv6 interface can cause it.
Local fix
Create an IPv6 interface
Problem summary
Customer could see "GETNETCONFIGENT FAILED" message flooding syslog, while working with AUTOFS mount points.
Problem conclusion
syslog will not log unwanted error message "GETNETCONFIGENT FAILED"
