Error description

  • running aixpert -c will log the error
"chetcftpusers.sh: /etc/ftpusers file does not have root
entry in it"
in  /etc/security/aixpert/check_report.txt
when user root does exist

* USERS AFFECTED:
* Systems running the 6100-06 Technology Level with the
* bos.aixpert.cmds fileset at the 6.1.6.21 level.
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
* Aixpert script chetcftpusers is logging the error that the
* /etc/ftpusers file does not contain the root user when
* aixpert -c is run.
* Also, the part of the script that should be removing the
* root user from the /etc/ftpusers file was removing the entire
* file instead of just removing the root user.

* RECOMMENDATION:
* Install APAR IV40721.
****************************************************************
