Error description
The Daylight Saving Time rules for the time zones listed below were changed. Any AIX 6.1 and 7.1 systems using Olson format in these timezones must apply this fix to update the AIX zoneinfo database with the latest transition rules for DST. This is not a code bug, but merely an update to the zoneinfo databae to have the latest rules. . The affected timezones (If TZ variable is of the format 'Continent/Zone' or 'Country') are: . Africa/Casablanca America/Asuncion America/Port-au-Prince America/Santiago Antarctica/Macquarie Antarctica/Palmer Asia/Gaza Asia/Hebron Asia/Jerusalem Asia/Tel_Aviv Israel Pacific/Easter Chile/Continental Chile/EasterIsland . Note: A reboot is recommended after applying this fix so that all applications are restarted with the new timezone information. .
Local fix
To adjust for new DST transition rules without installing this fix for Olson format, you could instead use POSIX format by manually updating to timezone string to reflect the new DST transition rules. Please note that reboot is recommended after changing timezone string so that all applications are restarted with new timezone information.
