  • During NIM bos_inst operation using force_push attribute
set to yes, the following message on NIM client is
displayed:
 NIM has initiated a bos installation operation on this
machine.
 Automatic reboot and reinstallation will follow
shortly...
** End of message **

The NIM client machine does not get automatically
rebooted.

* Systems running the 7100-01 Technology Level with the
* bos.sysmgt.nim.master fileset below the 7.1.1.19 level.
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
* During NIM bos_inst operation using force_push attribute
* set to yes, the NIM client does not get automatically rebooted
* and the operation hangs waiting for the client to reboot.
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:
* Install APAR IV41614.
****************************************************************

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Replace the interior single quotes with escaped '"' double
quote in tthe c_rsh call executing "echo" creating a shutdown
script file on the NIM client.
