Error description

disk will increase as more nodes are added to the cluster,
    when disk ping is used.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • With the current code, the number of I/Os to the repository
disk will increase as more nodes are added to the cluster,
    when disk ping is used.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the disk ping driver to coalesce the reads of the
send control blocks into one read. The amount of data read
stays about the same as with the current driver, but the
number of I/O operations performed is reduced, and stays
constant regardless of how many nodes are in the cluster.
