APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Access checks for a mount point could fail if hostname
    resolution
did not work due to network issues. The negative response
    from
accessd is cached and causes further attempts to access
    the mount
point from the NFS client to fail with EACCES (Permission
    denied).

Local fix

  • Unexport and reexport the filesystems on the NFS server
    to
    purge the access cache:

    # exportfs -ua
    # exportfs -a

Problem summary

  • NFS client may get EACCESS if access checks for
mount point had earlier failed due to network issues.

Problem conclusion

  • Made code changes so that the failure is not
cached, and the access check is retried.

Temporary fix
