APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • You can select from smit disks in the sas enclosure that
    are
on separate adapters to be used for stripping. Since
    this
is not a supported configuration this should not be
    allowed.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • In "IBM SAS Disk Array Manager" smit menu, when the user
selects "Create a SAS Disk Array", it presents a list of
"Available Controllers" where it is possible to select
multiple adapters. But doing that will result in error
    similar to:
1800-106 error from the "Create a SAS Disk Array" smit choice.

Problem conclusion

  • In the "Available Controllers" list, it should not be possible
to select multiple adapters. So smit panel code modified to
make this list single-select rather than multi-select.
