IC72877: SUBSYSTEM PANEL SHOWS DS8K NOT CONNECTED AFTER CHANGING DSCLI/ESSNI LOGIN PASSWORD TO CONNECT TO HMC

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After changing DSCLI/ESSNI password to login to the HMC for
connection to DS8K box, refreshing the DS8K subsystem
configuration in the subsystem panel failed and put the DS8K in
disconnected state

Local fix

  • Work around is to restart the TPC-R server

Problem summary

  • After changing the login credentials to connect to the HMC, the
subsystem panel shows the DS8k not connected.

Problem conclusion

  • The object containing the HMC information was not reset with
the new information. This left old information in the object
which TPC-R tried to use.
