Vulnerability Details
DESCRIPTION: ISC BIND is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a REQUIRE assertion failure in dispatch.c when handling malformed packets. By sending specially-crafted packets, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause named to exit and result in a denial of service condition.

Affected Products and Versions
Releases 7.4, 7.3, 7.2, and 7.1 of IBM i are affected.
Remediation/Fixes
The issue can be fixed by applying a PTF to IBM i.
Releases 7.4, 7.3, 7.2, and 7.1 of IBM i are supported and will be fixed.

Release 7.2 – SI70732
Release 7.1 – SI70723
