Problem
IBM Spectrum Protect servers and storage agents are vulnerable to crashing at startup after certain AIX maintenance updates are applied to the AIX operating system.
The core dump created by the server crash shows the following call stack:

The problem is known to occur at AIX levels AIX6100-09-12-1838, 7100-05-03-1838 and 7200-03-01-1838, but the problem might occur at other maintenance levels in AIX 6.1, 7.1, or AIX 7.2.

Resolving the problem
To resolve the problem, install one of the fixing levels. Fixed levels are available for the following efix levels and fix levels:
