How can I perform a clean uninstall of IBM® Rational® RequisitePro® version 2003.06. or 7.x?
Answer
ADVISORY: Create a backup of the RequisitePro Project database, Project Folders and documents before performing the following procedure.
Note: This solution contains information about modifying the system registry. Before making any modifications to the Microsoft® Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. For more information describing how to back up the registry, refer to the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986.
To perform a clean uninstall of RequisitePro:
- Uninstall RequisitePro from Control Panel
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\Rational\ and Delete the RequisitePro folder
- Open up the Registry Editor (go to Start > Run > Enter regedit)
- Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Rational Software registry key and delete the RequisitePro folder
- Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Rational Software registry key and delete the RequisitePro folder
To uninstall RequisitePro 7.1:
- Launch IBM Installation Manager
- Select Uninstall from the IBM installation menu
- Select the Installation Package for IBM Rational SDLC
- Select RequisitePro and click Next to uninstall RequisitePro 7.1.
- Open up the Registry Editor (go to Start > Run > Enter regedit)
- Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Rational Software registry key and delete the RequisitePro folder
- Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Rational Software registry key and delete the RequisitePro folder
IMPORTANT: If you are uninstalling and installing a 7.1 version of ReqPro you can also use the MSI uninstaller tool. Download and run the Uninstall tool, which is available in this download document 4021131.
Note: This MSI uninstaller will remove ALL Rational tools on the system. It is best to plan your upgrade accordingly.
Note: The availability of the MSI Cleanup Utility in the event Windows cannot remove the application. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
