ClearQuest Web 7.1.1 does not allow 'cqweb' as hostname

Problem

This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearQuest Web 7.1.1. When the host name for the ClearQuest Web server is defined as or starts with "cqweb", you are unable to perform several actions in the client.

Symptom


When the host name for a ClearQuest 7.1.1 Web server is defined as or starts with "cqweb", you can still connect to databases. However, you will not be able to perform most actions like running queries, searching a record by ID, submitting a new record, or opening Site Administration. Opening the Help and User Preferences is still possible.

Executing a query:

Cause


This issue was identified as a product defect under APAR PM06509.

Resolving The Problem


This defect is fixed starting in version 7.1.1.1. Upgrade to the latest version to resolve this problem.

WORKAROUND

Rename the host name of the Web server, so that it does not contain the string "cqweb".
