Product Documentation

Abstract

IBM® Web Interface for Content Management (IBM WEBi) V1.0.3 and V1.0.4 require a minimum of ODWEK Version 8.4.1. If you use IBM WEBi and ODWEK on an AIX or Linux system, you must configure ODWEK for use with IBM WEBi.

Restrictions:

  • This information applies to AIX users and Linux users. It does not apply to Linux for System z users.
  • On AIX and Linux, IBM WEBi supports only a 32-bit instance of WebSphere Application Server.

ODWEK Version 8.4.1 includes a 32-bit shared library and a 64-bit shared library. You must configure ODWEK Version 8.4.1 for use with IBM WEBi to prevent WebSphere Application Server from loading the 64-bit shared library. If you do not complete this task, WebSphere Application Server returns an error when attempting to load the 64-bit shared library.

When you install IBM WEBi V1.0.3 or V1.0.4 with ODWEK V8.4.1, you must make the following changes to your ODWEK configuration:
  1. In the ODWEK_HOME directory (by default the directory is /usr/lpp/ars/www on AIX and /opt/ondemand/ars/www on Linux), create a new directory named 64bit by entering:
    • On AIX, mkdir /usr/lpp/ars/www/64bit
    • On Linux, mkdir /opt/ondemand/ars/www/64bit
  2. Move the 64-bit shared library to the newly created 64-bit directory:
    • On AIX, mv /usr/lpp/ars/www/libars3wapi64.a /usr/lpp/ars/www/64bit/libars3wapi64.a
    • On Linux,  mv /opt/ondemand/ars/www/libars3wapi64.a /opt/ondemand/ars/www/64bit/libars3wapi64.a
  3. Restart IBM WEBi.
