Abstract
IBM® DB2® Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8 is available with support on HP-UX 11i for HP Integrity Servers.
Content
DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8 is available with support on HP-UX 11i for HP Integrity Servers (HP-UX on the Intel® Itanium® 2 processor, also known as "IA64").
Key updates include the following:
- DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 Fix Pack 4: initial release of support for HP-UX 11i V2 on IA64 with DB2 V8 database
- DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 Fix Pack 6: first update, with additional support for Oracle 10g database
- DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 Fix Pack 7: update, with additional support for HP-UX 11i V3 on IA64
DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.4 is currently not supported on HP-UX 11i on IA64; see statement of direction in IBM US Software Announcement 207-352, dated December 11, 2007.
Support for HP-UX on IA64 hardware is available as part of DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition in addition to the existing server support for Windows®, AIX®, Solaris, and Linux® operating systems.

- DB2 Content Manager Records Enabler, or use of DB2 Records Manager (on Windows or AIX) to record-enable DB2 Content Manager for HP-UX on IA64
- DB2 Content Manager VideoCharger™
- DB2 Content Manager OnDemand
- WebSphere® Information Integrator Content Edition

The exact configuration needed to support your environment with satisfactory response time varies depending on the size of the objects you are working with and other factors. Individual display response times vary depending on workstation speed, memory, size of objects, and network and server workload. Minimum recommended configurations as indicated should be evaluated and adjusted according to your unique requirements. Disk space recommendations are for the product installation and working space only. The actual hard disk space required varies depending upon your installation. Refer to the Planning and Installing Your Content Management System Version 8 Release 3 (GC27-1332) book for more information.
DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 running on HP-UX 11i V2 or V3 on IA64 operates on any hardware configuration that supports the following software prerequisites.
Software Requirements
DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 (Fix Pack 4) for HP-UX 11i has the following minimum software requirements*:
Required software for DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 running on HP-UX 11i V2 on IA64:
- HP-UX B.11.23 on IA64 (HP Integrity Servers with Intel Itanium 2 processors)
- DB2 Universal Database™ V8.1 FixPak 15 (or 13 with APAR IY 92903) *
- WebSphere Application Server V6.0.1
- IBM HTTP Server V6.0.1 (Including WebSphere Application Server plugins and GSKit)
The presence of these levels can be verified in the Launchpad program available in any of the packages.
Note: DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 Fix Pack 4 does not include support for:
- HP-UX 11i V3 on IA64 (HP Integrity Servers with Intel Itanium 2 processors)
V3 support was added with DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition V8.3 Fix Pack 7 *
HP-UX 11i (any version) on HP 9000 Servers (with PA-RISC processors)
