APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SERIALIZABLEEXCEPTION seen in logs and VRBE fails to start after
585, dtjconf generates the same error as it tries to access
config.cfd due to serialised classes not matching compiled
classes (due to copyright updates)

Local fix

  • Delete $DTJ_DIR/config.cfd and rerun dtjconf, then restart VRBE

Problem summary

  • InvalidClassException/SerializableException seen on starting
VRBE or running dtjconf after installing VRBE 585

Problem conclusion

  • Backported safeguards added to 6.1 release to properly inform
user of how to fix the issue and updated dtjconf not to read in
the old config.cfd at the start

Temporary fix

  • Delete the $DTJ_DIR/config.cfd file and run dtjconf
