Troubleshooting
Problem
Beginning with WebSphere Business Integration Adapter Framework Fix Pack 2.6.0.2 , AIX 5.3 is supported. To install the Adapter Framework or any WebSphere Business Integration Adapters on a workstation running AIX 5.3, you must change the command that invokes the installer.
Cause
The installer for Adapter Framework version 2.6 and the installers for WebSphere Business Integration Adapters check the operating system level during the installation process. Because AIX 5.3 was not previously supported, they will not allow the installation to continue once it detects that the workstation is running AIX 5.3.
Resolving The Problem
To work around this, you can bypass the check. To do this, invoke the installer by entering the following command:
./setupAIX.bin -W unsupportedPlatform.active=false
Due to an incompatibility between one Installation Program fix pack and a small set of AIX 5.3 patch levels, it is possible that the installation will fail. If this occurs, follow these steps:
- Ensure that IBM® JDK 1.4.2 is installed on the AIX 5.3 workstation.
- Create a temporary directory, for example, /home/aaa/af26.
- Copy the two installer files, setup.jar and setupAIX.bin, to the temporary directory.
- Copy the two utility files, libaixppk.so and InstAIX53.sh, which are attached, to the temporary directory.
- Invoke the Installer by entering the following command:
./InstAIX53.sh
- If you encounter the following error message: "The file access permission's do not allow the specified action," ensure that the login account has adequate permission's to access the installer directory and to invoke the command.
