Error description

• Null object returned in the place of an empty string when the
  RTE text is cleared and the containing content item saved. This
  occurs in JRE 1.6 versions 10 and 11.

Problem summary

• Problem Summary: 'Null' displayed in the place of an empty
  string when the RTE text is cleared and the containing content
  item saved. This occurs in JRE 1.6 versions 10 and 11.
  
  Problem Description: When the customer clears the RTE field and
  saves the content item, a null is displayed in the RTE field.
  

Problem conclusion

• Problem Analysis: The browser returns a null object instead of
  an empty string to be processed by WCM. This occurs in JRE 1.6,
  versions 10 and 11.
  
  Problem Solution: Updated the FileTransferApplet to be more
  robust and handle this possible bug found in the newer versions
  of the JRE. I.e return the empty string when a null is passed
  in.
  
  A fix for the 6.0.1.3 release of WCM is available from:
