Local fix
Problem summary
UserManagementUtils.getCurrentUser() will return null for anonymous user.
Problem conclusion
Should instead get user principal info this way: PrincipalInformation principalInfo = UserManagementUtils.getCurrentPrincipalInfo(); which returns correct principal info for anonymous user
