PK68671: INCORRECT THEME POLICY IS CACHED IN CASE OF JCR DB ACCESS FAILURE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a page is accessed during JCR DB is unavailable(such as DB
    down or during HACMP DB takeover), portal returns the page with
    incorrect theme policy in case of the following condition:
    - the correct/specified theme policy of the page is not cached
    in portal or the cache is invalidated.
    
    The incorrect theme policy is used at the subsequent accesses to
    the page even after JCR DB recovered.
    Portal keep the incorrect theme policy until the timeout of the
    cache.
    
    This issue occurs in case that the specified theme policy is not
    cached.
    The situation is as follows:
    - just after portal restart, this cache is empty
    - after timeout of the cached value, the cached value is
    invalidated
    
    The cache is managed with Cache Manager Services in Portal
    configuration services.
    The cacheinstance.cacheidentifier is as follows:
    cacheinstance.com.ibm.wps.policy.services.PolicyCacheManager
    
    One of the recreation procedure is as follows:
    1) create a page
    2) select some theme policy except for SingleTopNav
    3) restart portal
    4) login portal
    5) stop JCR DB
    6) move to the page.
    SingleTopNav is used though the other theme policy is specified.
    7) start JCR DB
    8) refresh or move to the page again and again.
    Portal keep using SingleTopNav.
