APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the portal servlet receives a invalid URL, it prints a
"Invalid URL" warning to the log files, even if logging is
    disabled.
In addition, a fallback is applied which leads to the default
portal page being displayed. During the execution of the
    fallback,
an initialization step is missing, causing problems with the
    creation of action URLs (CannotGenerateActionIDExceptions).

Problem summary

  • If the portal servlet receives a invalid URL, it prints a
"Invalid URL" warning to the log files, even if logging is
    disabled.
In addition, a fallback is applied which leads to the default
portal page being displayed. During the execution of the
fallback, an initialization step is missing, causing problems
with the creation of action URLs
    (CannotGenerateActionIDExceptions).

Problem conclusion

  • Fix makes sure that the warning is only printed, if logging is
enabled (requires trace level "low" at least). Beyond that, the
fix makes sure that the initialization step needed for action
URL generation is also executed in the fallback case.
