64-bit GSKIT image may fail to install on 64-bit Windows

Troubleshooting

Problem

The GSK7BAS_64.msi file shipped with IBM Tivoli Directory Server V6.1 or V6.2 may not install correctly on 64-bit Windows operating systems.

Symptom

The following dialog may pop-up on failed 64-bit gskit installation.

GLPINS007E GSKit installation failed.

1: The InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the version required to run this setup. If available, please install the latest version of ISScript.msi, or contact your support personnel for further assistance

Cause

The GSK7BAS_64.msi file packaged with the ITDS 6.1 or 6.2 and GSKIT 7.0.3.30 / 7.0.4.14 provided the incorrect ISScript8.MSI file for 64-bit Windows OS.
Note that the 64-bit ITDS Server and Client components require 64-bit GSKit for SSL functionality.
This problem will not be observed if the correct ISScript8.msi was already installed on the system as part of any other product.

Environment

Windows 64-bit

Resolving The Problem

The following non-IBM website discusses how to check for and install the MSI script:
https://flexeracommunity.force.com/customer/articles/en_US/ERRDOC/Q108158

Here is the correct file:
ISScript8.Msi
(for 64-bit windows a.k.a x64/x86_64 windows - to use with GSKit 7.0.3.30 / 7.0.4.14, which is provided along with ITDS V6.1 / V6.2 GA).

Note: This solution is applicable to first time installation of any level of GSKIt v7 (including 7.0.4.*).
