Error description

  • When loading a unicode table that is partitioned by some
vargraphic columns , the rows are loaded into the wrong
partition because it did not pad all the vargraphic keys with
    x'0020'.

    ****************************************************************
The LOAD utility was used to populate a partitioned Unicode
table space which contained VARGRAPHIC columns. The table was
partitioned by a key which consisted of multiple vargraphic
columns. The length of one of the VARGRAPHIC columns was less
than the maximum for that column. As LOAD compared the key from
the input with the limit key for each partition, the input key
compared low causing all of the rows to be loaded into the first
partition. LOAD was not padding the input key correctly,
    causing a low comparison between a x'00' and a x'20'.

This problem can occur for any limit key that contains one or
    more VARGRAPHIC columns.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been modified to pad a double byte character key
    column correctly during LOAD.
