Error description

  • Just after CICS startup, specifically after the execution of the
    BBOC transaction a D06 abend occurrs like this:
    +DFHAP0707 CICSF5 An abend (code 0D6/AKEB) has occurred in task
    related user exit program BBOATRUE.

    +DFHAP0001 CICSF5 An abend (code 0D6/AKEB) has occurred at
    offset X'00016E0C' in module BBOATRUE.

    space before issuing the 'BBOC' transaction.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server V7.0, V8.0 and V8.5                  *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0D6/ABENDS0D6 in program BBOATRUE *
    * while running in CICS. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The WebSphere Optimized Local Adapters (WOLA) CICS Task Related
    User Exit (TRUE), BBOATRUE, takes an ABEND0D6/ABENDS0D6 while
    attempting to perform a program call (PC) to the WebSphere
    Application Server for z/OS location service daemon. This
    causes the CICS request to fail. The failing request could be
    a WOLA application call (ex. BBOA1INV), or could be a CICS
    syncpoint request.

Problem conclusion

  • An ESTAE was added to catch the 0D6 abend, and to either retry
    the operation (if possible), or issue a failing return/reason
    code.

    APAR PM74646 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere
    Application Server Fix Packs 7.0.0.29, 8.0.0.6, and 8.5.0.2.
