    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A customer with a very large cell noticed high CPU usage when
    the system was idle. Dumps showed that
    javax/xml/parsers/DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance in
    SOAP-related code was being called frequently.

Problem conclusion

  • SOAP code was modified to cache and reuse DocumentBuilder
    rather than frequently creating a new one.

    APAR PM23611 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
    Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.13 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
