Error description

  • The z/OS ProxyMBeanSupport code unregisters a Java Management
    Extension (JMX) Management Bean (MBean) when the count
    of servant regions being managed for the MBean becomes zero.
    This is incorrect for MBeans which are registered by adjunct
    region(s).

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Java Management Extension Management *
    * Beans unregisterd from adjunct region *
    *                                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Java Management Extension (JMX) Management Beans (MBeans)
    registered in the z/OS adjunct region, for example, Service
    Integration Bus (SIB) MBeans, may be incorrectly unregistered
    by the Control region proxy
    com.ibm.ws390.management.ProxyMBeanSupport
    because the count of Servant regions managing the MBean is
    zero. This may result in MBeans being unavailable. Expanding
    Application Servers --> <server name> --> Messaging engines in
    the administrative console may display status as "unavailable."

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been modified such that, the count of MBeans being
    managed in the adjunct region is considered before unregistering
    the MBean.

    APAR PK98492 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
