  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Edge Side Include (ESI)                 *
  *                      cache statistics and processes not      *
  *                      showing up on the cache monitor         *
  *                      EdgeStatistics panel.                   *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  Under stress, WebSphere DynaCache does not communicate cache
  statistics and other control information correctly with the ESI
  surrogate server. The ESI surrogate can be an IBM HTTP server
  (IHS) with the WebSphere plugin or the WebSphere Proxy Server.
  When a problem occurs, the connection between IHS and WebSphere
  Dynacache is broken and  the CacheMonitor application
  does NOT show any ESI edge statistics.
  

Problem conclusion

• The communication channel between the ESI surrogate server and
  the WebSphere Application Server on z/OS has been made
  more robust. The connection will now stay up, until the
  application server or the ESI surrogate server is stopped.
  
  APAR PK90168 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
  Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.5 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0.
