  • The timing in our code of the thread pool updates seems to be
such that the PMI is not picking up the changes for the
ORB.thread.pool.

The WebSphere Application Server for z/OS ORB.thread.pool
reports incorrect thread counts for the minimum, maximum, and
current number of threads.

The ORB.thread.pool thread count is governed by the
server_region_workload_profile.  The pool contains a fixed
number of threads;  the minimum, maximum, and current counts
are all identical.  The number of threads in the
ORB.thread.pool is reported during server initialization by
message BBOO0234I.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was updated so that the thread counts reported by
ORB.thread.pool are accurate.

APAR PK85470 is currently targeted for inclusion in Service
Level (Fix Pack) 7.0.0.7 of WebSphere Application Server V7.0
for z/OS.
